What we collect

NewHab collects only what is necessary to provide your coaching experience:

  • Your email address (used to sign you in and send daily check-ins)
  • Your display name and goal
  • Your conversation history with Sage, summarised to maintain coaching context
  • Your nudge time and timezone (so check-ins arrive when you expect them)
  • Basic account metadata: account creation date, login provider

We do not collect your location, browsing history, device identifiers, or any information beyond what is listed above.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to operate NewHab — to authenticate you, run your coaching sessions, and send your daily nudge. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the service.

We do not sell or share your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.

The only third parties that touch your data are the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (cloud hosting, email delivery, AI model inference). They process your data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

If this changes

If we ever decide to change how we handle your data — including any decision to share or sell it — we will notify you by email before that change takes effect. You will have the opportunity to delete your account before any new policy applies to you. We will never apply a material data-sharing change retroactively.

Data security

Your email address and goal text are encrypted at rest. Sessions use short-lived, cryptographically signed tokens. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed within 30 days.

Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@newhab.app.
